This cabin in Jämsä sits 240 km north of Helsinki, right by Lake Kankarisvesi. The lake is shallow with a firm sandy bottom, making it a family-friendly place for swimming and easy days by the water, and the cabin has its own boat for getting out on the lake.
Built in 1991, the log cabin has a kitchen, a living room with two extra beds, one bedroom with a double bed and another with bunk beds. There is also a dressing room, and the sauna and WC are reached through the veranda. An open veranda gives you a simple place to sit outside and enjoy the setting.
A wood-heated sauna and shower are part of the stay, and a movable hot tub can be rented from the owner for an extra fee if it is available. The owner fills, empties and cleans it, while you heat it yourself and follow the given instructions; in very cold winter weather, it cannot be rented. An air source heat pump adds heating and cooling.
Outside, you have good hiking terrain, mushroom and berry forests, and maintained ski trails in winter. The cabin is pet friendly for an extra fee, and a cot and high chair are available for families. Please note that natural conditions such as water levels can change the shoreline.
