This cottage in Himos sits on a peaceful plot by a forest pond, about 55 km northwest of Heinola. The hand-carved log villa dates from 2006 and offers a warm, spacious feel with room for up to eight guests.
The main floor brings together the living room and kitchen, along with a bedroom with a double bed, a sauna, washroom, dressing and utility room, hall, and separate WC. Upstairs, there is another bedroom with two beds, a third bedroom with two beds and a child’s bed, plus a convertible extra bed for two in the lobby. The cottage also has two WCs, a balcony, and child gates on both levels.
Outside, a terrace looks out over the pond, and stairs lead down to the water and dock. The pond has a gravel bottom and deep water near the end of the pier, and there is also a rowing boat at nearby lake Suojärvi. In winter, when snow conditions allow, freestyle and classic ski trails start from the yard.
The owner can arrange extra outdoor gear, an outboard motor, lakeside sauna and hot tub hire, and electric car charging by agreement. Sysmä is 7 km away for shops and services, and Päijätsalo National Park is 15 km from the cottage.
