Oravanpesä is a two-storey log cabin in Hämeenlinna, in the Sappee area, set by the clear-watered lake Iso-Roine. The cabin is rented all year round and is described as cozy and fully equipped for a pleasant holiday in nature.
The cabin has a kitchen, living room with sofa bed, three bedrooms, a sleeping loft with a spreadable sofa bed, and one washroom with WC and shower. There is also a covered porch, balcony, heat-storing fireplace, and a wood-heated sauna with direct access to the porch for cooling.
Outside, guests have a large yard, a covered cooking area with a wood-burning barbecue, a shared woodshed, parking, and a children’s sandbox. A hot tub is available for rent, and an electric car charger is available for an additional fee in common use with the Karhunpesä cabin.
The lake is reached by steep stairs to a pier, where swimming is possible with a swimming ladder. A rowing boat is located within 100 m, and there is also a common sand beach in the same area. The surroundings include a private 21-lane frisbee golf course, meadow areas for activities, and seasonal opportunities such as cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and ice skating when conditions allow.
