Kärkimökki is a 90 m² log cabin in Hämeenlinna, in the Sappee area, about 37 km north of the city. It is named after its location and is described as cozy and well-equipped.
The cabin is on the shore of lake Iso-Roine, with a rocky beach and a pier at the tip of the cape. A natural trail leads to the pier, and you can swim from the pier using the swimming ladder. The beach access is described as a bit challenging because of the rocky bottom.
There is a rowing boat stored in the marina about 100 m away, and a shallow, child-friendly sand beach shared with other cabins is about 200 m away. The cabin is not suitable for small children.
Inside, there is a living room/kitchen with a sofa bed, two bedrooms with two beds in each, and a sleeping loft with a spreadable sofa bed. The cabin also has a wood-heated sauna, washroom with WC, covered porch, and balcony. Firewood for the sauna, grill, and fireplace is included in the price.
Additional features include a covered cooking area in the yard, a heat-storing fireplace, and a hot tub available for rent. Pets are allowed for an extra fee. Please note that network connections may be weak in the area.
The wider area offers outdoor opportunities such as fishing, crayfish catching, berry and mushroom picking, disc golf, and winter activities like cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and ice skating when snow conditions allow.
