This cottage stands in a quiet spot on the shore of a lake north-west of Rovaniemi, with a large living room and a cooking corner at the heart of the house. Upstairs, four sleeping alcoves each have their own door and two beds, giving the cottage a simple and practical layout for a group stay.
Outside, you have an open porch and a balcony, while the main sauna has an electric stove, a washroom with shower cubicle, and a dressing room. The cooking corner has been renovated, and an air source heat pump in the living room provides extra heating when needed.
By the shore, a separate summer sauna with a wood-burning stove adds a more rustic experience, and there is a roofed fireplace for summer use. Water for the summer sauna must be carried from the lake, and only one basket of firewood a day is to be used for the summer sauna and the fireplace.
The lake is shallow with a moraine bottom, and natural conditions can affect the shoreline. The cottage is also well placed for Northern Lights viewing when conditions are right, and a connecting track leads from the cottage to the main snowmobile route. Rovaniemi is 38 km away, with ski and golf facilities at 42 km and the Arctic Circle area and airport 48 km from the cottage.
