This cottage sits in a sunny, peaceful hillside setting by lake Alajärvi, about 58 km north of Rovaniemi. The yard is neat and well kept, and stairs lead down to the shore, where the lake lies just 30 metres away.
Inside, the cottage has a living room-kitchen, two bedrooms, and a washroom with toilet. One bedroom has a double bed, while the other has a sofa bed, making the cottage suited to a small family or two couples. The living spaces are simple and practical, with mechanical ventilation, a TV, and a recordable digibox.
Sauna life is a big part of the stay. The electric sauna is in the cottage, and from early June to the end of September there is also a lakeside sauna with a wood-heated stove, water tank, Rovaniemi convertible sofa. By the shore, you also have a summer kitchen with a gas cooker, gas grill, and griddle pan, plus a campfire site for long evenings outside.
The cottage comes with a rowing boat, and an electric outboard motor can be rented from the owner. Cross-country skiing is available in Meltaus, and Rovaniemi, Ounasvaara ski resort, the Arctic Circle, and Santa Park are all within day-trip reach. Please note that natural water conditions can affect the shoreline, and pets are not allowed from 1 October 2025.
