This cabin stands on the bank of the Ounasjoki River, about 75 km north of Rovaniemi, in a quiet wilderness setting with flowing water just 30 m away. The riverside is left in its natural state, and the slope from the cabin leads down toward the river.
Inside, the log cabin has a paneled interior and a combined kitchen-living room, plus three bedrooms that sleep 4–6 guests. A covered terrace gives you an easy place to sit outside and take in the surroundings.
A separate sauna building adds to the stay, with an electric sauna, wash room, dressing room and an extra room with a single bed and wood-burning stove. The cabin and sauna building are linked by a terrace, and water is fetched from the standpipe in the yard. In winter, the cabin is not preheated before arrival, but it does have basic heat.
This is a strong choice for fishing, with rapids both upstream and downstream, a fishing license included in the price, and the option to arrange a fishing guide. You also have access to a boat, while the area around Rovaniemi, Levi and the Ounasjoki fishing waters opens up more outdoor days. The cabin uses a composting outdoor toilet.
