This cottage in Småland sits a few kilometres north of Kalmar in a beautiful coastal setting. The sea is only 700 metres away, so beach days and fishing are easy to build into your stay.
Nature surrounds the house, with forest close by and hiking trails that invite you out in every season. In the right season, you can also pick mushrooms and berries nearby, adding a simple outdoor rhythm to the stay.
Kalmar is within easy reach for a day out, with its rich history, 12th-century remains, Renaissance castle, and old town. Cross the bridge to Öland for varied nature and long sandy beaches, or head to Kalmar Golf Club on the way. Värsnäs is another nearby nature area worth visiting.
The cottage also works well for longer outings, with day-trip possibilities to Astrid Lindgren’s world, Vimmerby Adventure Park, the James Bond Museum in Nybro, and Europe’s largest dinosaur exhibition in Smedby.
