This cabin sits on the shore of Lake Kemijärvi in Suomu, about 31 kilometres northeast of Kemijärvi. Built in 2017, it has a clean, high-quality log-cabin feel with a bright interior and a practical layout for a small group or family.
The main living space combines the kitchen and living room, with a heat-storing fireplace and underfloor heating adding comfort through the seasons. There is one bedroom with a double bed, and a loft with four mattresses split into two sleeping areas. The loft has sloping ceilings and low headroom, and the stairs are steep, so it suits guests who are comfortable with that setup.
A wood-heated sauna and washing room give the cabin its classic Finnish rhythm, and the covered terrace opens to a wide lake landscape. Outside, the shallow sandy shore is especially suitable for children, and a rowing boat, campfire spot, and gas grill support easy days by the water.
For practical planning, the nearest shop and petrol station are in Joutsijärvi, 12 kilometres away. Suomutunturi Ski Resort is 10 kilometres away, with several other ski resorts within 100 kilometres, so the cabin works well for both summer lake days and winter breaks. Please note that the owners have a dog and a cat, so it is not suitable for allergy sufferers.
